Bike Chatel welcomed the team from MTBBerkhamsted to kick off the mountain-bike season 2011 here in Chatel, What a fantastic few days it was, two great days of riding in the much improved Chatel and Morgin bike parks getting used to the steep terrain and sorting all the bikes before hitting the event in blazing sun on Sunday: The classic circuit tackled by the brave Team MTBBirkhamsted is long tour of the varied riding in the Portes du Soleil, Approximately 80 km / 50 miles long - 14 up-lifts - 7000m of descending and 1000 m of climbing, Kicking off in Chatel, passing through the resorts of Avoriaz, Les Gets, Morzine and Montriond Les Lindarets in France plus Swiss resorts of Champery, Morgin and Les Crosets.

A great day was had by all and even some energy left to sink a few well-deserved beers in the Tunnel Bar. Congratulations to you all!

Weekends of 11/12/13 and 18/19 June: Pierre-Longue chairlift and Rochassons chairlift giving access to the 'Pre la Joux' bike park.

Every day access to the full 'Portes du Soleil' biking areas from 24 June to 4 September 2011.

Weekends of 8/9/10 and 17/18/19 September 2011 giving access to the 'Pre la Joux' bike park.

Resorts in the Portes du Soleil use a "hands-free" lift-pass system so that you never have to take off your gloves! A microchip embedded in the pass is scanned remotely at the entrance barriers to release the turnstile.

Competition complete, all riders said it was an awesome day at Super Chatel and that experiencing a taste of what their teammates compete in had inspired them. At the end of the day we saw victory to X C in the first ever Crossover Challenge. Just 27 seconds (or 1.8%) decided the day

TWR Summer camp, Crossover challenge 2010

Bike Chatel, Chalet Cateriane and events partners 'professional events' are so proud to be hosting the TREK world racing team summer camp in Chatel 2010. For 8 days we will be looking after the Trek World Racing team in the wonderful chalet l'Oree du lac. The world class athletes attending include: Tracy Moseley, Andrew Neethling, Neko Mulally, Justin Leov, Emily Batty, Lucas and Mathias Fluckiger in an impressive line up of MTB superstars.

The packed program includes the 'Crossover Challenge' where the Downhillers and XC racers compete on special courses designed by us, first in there own disciplines before crossing over disciplines plus bikes and racing again, XC on DH, and DH on the XC course. All covered by 'mountainbiking UK', Should be fun.

Competition winners are invited to the camp to ride with the stars, who will be practicing continually over the period.

UCI MTB world cup 2010 Champery, Portes du Soleil

Champéry and the Portes du Soleil will again welcome the 4th round of the UCI-MTB-World-cup on 24/25 July 2010.
Three disciplines will be honored on and around the legendary track of Grand Paradis during the weekend: cross-country, downhill and 4X.
These races will be test events for next year’s World championships.

This year will see the comeback of the Downhill racers on the difficult Grand Paradis track. Sam Hill wrote a little bit of history in 2007. And there’s a rumor that he wants to give a little lesson to his competitors. Without question 2010 in Champéry will be another great show of the World’s best mountain bikers!

The “Tour de Romandie” hits Chatel in 2010

6 day Pro Tour stage race includes Chatel for the first time

April 29th - May 3rd: After the start in the Jura mountains, Switzerland, the race will pass by Freiburg, Moudon, then south around the shores of lake Geneva, before a stage finish in Chatel (France) and finally the big mountain stage, starting and finishing in Sion.

The 2010 stage 5 finish in Chatel on May 1^st will be the first time the tour will celebrate a finish outside Switzerland. In 2010 France and Switzerland will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the creation of “Ski Franco-Swiss. It was also the time that Chatel constructed its first ski lift in the direction of Switzerland.

The mountain bike event on snow. This unique MTB event kicks off the “Châtel 3 Style Days”, from 20 to 24 March 2010

Starting from the top of Linga 2, the 40 plus racers descend over 1000m on open pistes and forest sections to the bottom of the Linga station, reaching speeds of nearly 100 km/h, finishing on the special snow covered 4X track.

Hosted by & starting in Chatel, the most charming village in the Portes du Soleil, A must event for any mountain biker, held in the portes du soleil since 2004 & grown better & more popular every year.  Originally a replacement for the Free Raid Classic, now better than ever.  Les PassPortes du Soleil is a lift-assisted 50-mile free ride mountain bike tour of the Portes du Soleil, focuses on fun.Descending 20,000 feet & includes massive descents, traversing, & even a tiny bit of climbing. Riders can complete the circuit in one day, over the the weekend, or ride its entirety every day. Entry includes weekend-long lift access throughout thePortes du Soleil; post race festivities, goodie bag & everything else that comes with a large mountain bike event: all for less than 40 Euro.  The summer 2010 'passportes' will be held over the weekend 26-27th June, hosted by Chatel, marking the start of the summer season in Chatel.
